A Response to the shooting in Charleston
When I awoke to the news of the shooting in Charleston I expect my first response was the same of many: shock, sadness, anger, hopelessness. I began wondering what I could do, what I could say, that would have any positive impact at all in light of this most recent attack on innocents. The sad truth is that violent acts against people happen all over the world every single day, every single hour. Wondering what I could do about it in my own little part of the world made me feel small and ineffectual. But then the voice in my heart whispered: LOVE, and I saw how vital all the light workers and healers are to the world at this time. Collectively as we do our work we make a difference, and this difference has a positive impact on the world. And I saw that there are not enough of us, for this is a great task.
My response now is in deep, loving gratitude for all my fellow light workers out there doing their work, whether you’re a healer, teacher, guide, volunteer, enlightened jewelry maker, caregiver, parent, friend, speaker, first responder, philosopher, or someone who helps an old person cross the street, or who shows kindness, compassion and generosity of spirit to a person or animal in need. You are all so beautiful, so vital, and so necessary to this world, so PLEASE, STAND OUT, SPEAK UP, SHINE, SHARE, and NEVER GIVE UP!!! BE BOLD IN YOUR ACTION AND YOUR PURPOSE!!!
I am beyond indebted, moved, and humbled by your grace. As John Lennon said “Love is the answer, and you know that for sure”. Let love be your answer today.
Blessings to you all,
