Who Are You Not To Shine?
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It’s our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? But actually who are you not to be. You are a child of god. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of god that is within us. It’s not just in some of us. It’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson, A Return To Love
I have this excerpt on the wall beside my desk, so that I can read it in moments of fear and be reminded of my radiance, my purpose, to empower me with the choice to not play small.
When I was teaching my workshops in Sedona a couple of weeks ago, there was a part of me that was thrilled that I was stepping into the bigger picture of who I was, what I have to offer people, and the vision I hold of my work and purpose going forward. There was also a part of me that wanted to run back home to my dogs and hide. I could have listened to that voice but for the whispers of my heart that said 'this is just insecurity, it's proof that you're leaning more fully into your potential. Take a deep breath, and keep going'.
What's your scared voice saying to you? That you're not good enough? That it will never happen? That you're a failure? Not lovable? That it won't even happen so why keep trying?..
And what is your heart whispering in response? Do you know? Are you listening? Do you have the courage, the tools, the structures of support to follow?
Courage, I've learned, is key - to have the courage to trust yourself and your guidance, the courage to pursue that which seems impossible, the courage to be willing to give yourself more. When we are brave, change is inevitable. When we have courage, we step up to the plate and say YES to our heart's whispers. When we move through our fear, we step into our radiance.
If this seems daunting, I am here to help you. Because I've been there, I'm still there, and I always will be there, and so will you! This is life, this is the human condition, and though we may need help sometimes, shining is always a choice.
I'm going to take a deep breath, and I'm gonna shine. Will you shine with me?
We're now mid-way through the year, and I'm checking in to see where you're at with what you set out to achieve this year, this month, this week - how's it going? If you find you're still stuck in the same place, sitting with the same resistance, offering up the same excuses, or if you feeling just plain lost or need a boost up, I am offering 10% off all services until June 25th (when Mercury leaves it's shadow, astrologically speaking) to help you review, re-orient, and get set up to move powerfully forward. If you need help or support, reach out, and claim your opportunity to shine.
Eleanor Roosevelt said: “Do one thing every day that scares you.” Make this a daily motto, and let your fear guide you to your greatness. Imagine a world full of great people - I'm holding space for that reality to manifest.
Blessings be, everyone xo
