Crossroads Crystals + the Otherworld

I remember the first time a crystal opened a portal for me into the spirit world: I was sitting by a lake with a piece of staurolite (pictured above) and I dropped into trance.

I felt mists come up around me, and I was transported to the isle of Avalon. I met with a past life self who reignited my passion for herbs and began to teach me about plant medicine.

I still journey there with that stone whenever I feel the need for teachings or support from those sacred Celtic elders.

Crossroads crystals, like staurolite, chiastolite, and quartzes with bridge formations, open us to the Otherworld and to the magic it contains.

And they protect us while we're there…

The Otherworld is a realm of the Fae, chaos, spectres, and civilizations lost to time or memory. It is a realm of potentiality, where instant healing and manifestation is possible, and where secrets and mysteries can be revealed.

Many ancient civilizations believed that there were gateways or portals to this realm hidden in Nature, and that we could pass through them when in liminal states of consciousness or enchantment.

A Practice to Try

Hold a crossroads crystal in a quiet place, preferably in nature, and close your eyes.
Drop into a light trance, and let it enchant you, weaving its energy into your field.
Whisper your intention to its spirit, and ask for its guidance and protection as you journey into the Otherworld.
Relax, without expectation, and like the mystics, poets, and shamans before you, you too may cross the threshold into the realm of magic and possibility.
To come back, return the way you came and bring your awareness back to the present moment.

It's the enchantment of crossroads stones that transport us in spirit to this place, and heighten our psychic senses so that we can consciously interact with whom we meet there.

Remember that they also acts as wards against harm, so that you can do this work safely and always within your sovereignty.
