Embracing Inner Sacred Darkness
I know the cold, dark months of the year can be hard for many, myself included.
I asked the trees once how they cope with winter, and they replied that the cold does not bother them - they go within.
I asked the crystals once how they cope with darkness, and they replied that they carry their own light within them.
What I have learned is that there are different kinds of darkness: there's the evil kind or the scary kind, but there is also a kind that is sacred.
It is the womb. The cave. The moonless sky. The deep recesses of the Earth. The Mystery. The great void prior to creation.
I've also learned through the crystals that, like them, we carry our own light within us wherever we go. And like the trees, there is a warmth we find there that can sustain us through the most challenging times.
I believe that when we find our inner sacredness, we can perceive the sacredness in all things. That there is a certainty, a resilience in this space from which we cannot be swayed.
And it's in this dark inner space, in the sacred silence of it, where Spirit can find us, and we can hear Its whispers.
We can hear the EarthSong and the beat of our own hearts again.
We find truth. And holiness. And a spark that lights our way forward, no matter how cold or dark the path before us may seem.
Crystals for Embracing Inner Sacred Darkness
This month the crystalline guidance is to drop into our own inner sacred. To cultivate those spaces of silence within, and to listen. Simply listen. To let ourselves be the seed and the darkness the womb. To open to Spirit's, and our, greater truth. To be the master in disguise.
Here are 4 crystals that have helped me to find + embrace my own inner silence and sacredness:
Rainbow Obsidian - reveals the mysteries within us & invites them to unfold.
Snowflake Obsidian - favoured by the ancients as a crystal of honesty, perception, and truth.
Garnet (almandine) - teaches us that mastery over the self is the true power, and opens us to hear the Earth's song.
Lapis Lazuli - the listening crystal, the light of the stars piercing the dark night's sky, unveiling the gold within us.
A Powerful Way to Work with Your Chosen Crystal:
Find a time of day (or night) to light a candle.
Sit with your crystal.
Invite in its spirit.
Drop deep within. Listen.
Keep listening.
Let yourself be the seed within the womb.
Open to the sacred and let it flow through you.
Let the sacred become you.
I’d love to hear your comments:
Are you going to try the above practice and cultivate spaces of silence within? Can you let yourself be the seed and open to your greater truth?
