Crystal Medicine for Silvery Days

In November on the north shores of lake Erie (where I now live) it's as if a grey gloom settles over everything: The clouds crowd out the light, the final leaves fall, and the earth begins to look brown and bare.

The dark times of the year, when the days are shortest, are hard for me. My spirits seem to droop with everything else.

But I'm reminded of what a friend once said, that these were “silvery days”:

When you look closer there's a magic to perceive, if you have the heart to do it.

There's a glimmer and sheen in the wet greys, glimpses of things in the fog and mists. The deer are easier to spot in the woods, as are the eagle nests, and the owls hoot their appreciation for the longer nights to hunt.

Today I sat with my apophyllite cluster in hand, a dear friend, and I allowed it to fill me with its light.

To carry me up to the Akashic records.

To raise my spirits as well as my perspective.

It's not spiritual bypassing - I am reminded that I am creator of my life, not a victim to it - and that my crystal allies are always here to support me, no matter what.

In a world that can feel so heavy, their light, their whispers, and their reminders are a constant that I appreciate all the more.

4 Crystals for the Dark Time of the Year:

Here are a few of my favourite crystals for the dark time of the year, to help me find the magic in these “silvery days”:

  1. Apophyllite: higher perspective, cellular sacred light infusion

  2. Citrine: sunlight in a crystal, reminder of our co-creative power

  3. Spirit Quartz: like fairies dancing in your aura, fun and free and fierce and brave

  4. Scolecite: gentleness, harmony, angels singing in your blood

The Best Way to Work with these Crystals:

Do more than just wear one of these.

Hold it. Talk to it. Invite in its spirit as well as its energy.

Let it infuse you with its magic. Let it wrap itself around you and lift your spirits up.

Remember that it is ancient, and that it sees you. See IT, too.

Let everything you touch be touched by its light.

For its light is yours - you've simply forgotten.

I’d love to hear your comments:

Have you ever considered working with a crystal by inviting in its spirit and energy, and letting it lift your own spirits up?
